What taking care of our military children means to me is to have things such as clubs and programs to help them feel comfortable at their new base. I’ve been to a new base five times, and every time I arrived to the base, I felt clueless. Being a military child has its perks such as being able to say you’ve been in a helicopter, or you have been to several different places. Even though there are many great opportunities, it has its disadvantages like having to move in the middle of the school year and having to leave your friends. Then once you arrive you have to start clean and make or find new friends. Although we may have had that one base where we could not make friends, there will always be chances to start over and try again.
