Camp Humphreys, South Korea
I lived where people vacation,
It’s for my nation.
Each move is different in many ways,
like how long you stay.
Each place is new to you,
but you’ll call it your home soon.
Everyone says hi...
Thank you my father
He puts on his uniform
And serves our country proudly
I am always moving
We can never stay still
Why are we always moving
Can we stop for a second and think?
It has been longer than a second
Nobody is moving
All I can hear is myself think
As you sit in the classroom on your last day
Your friends comfort you as they wish you could stay
The night before you were informed you must move away
This is the life of a military child, so...
Waving goodbye to my loved ones,
Whether my friends or my father,
Pulls tight at my heartstrings,
But every place I go is a new start.
Boxes piled high as the ceiling
Memories are packed away...
I am like a wish flower.
Wind blows me to new places.
I sprout where I land,
I grow my roots deep,
Until the wind blows again.
