My Story of Being a Military Child

I was born in Jacksonville North Carolina I wasn’t old enough to go to school out there when we moved, when we moved I went to French Lick Indiana that is where I went to school from kindergarten to 4th grade. During summer break I moved back to North Carolina, where I went from 5th to 7th but never finish 7th grade because we moved during the year and when I went to Japan from the end of 7th grade to now. I’ve been to five schools in total. Each time I’ve gone to a new school I’ve made so many friends that I’ve grown really close to, just for me or them to move. But I’m still very thankful for the life I get to live because of my parents.

Some of the people I met along the way of my journey of being a military child that I could relate to in many however, there were some that I just couldn’t understand even though we lived a decently similar life but it what it is. I’ve met people who have served in the military from different generations as one time in North Carolina we were selling things at a flea market and one of our customers shared his story of being an airforce pilot in Vietnam. It is always interesting to meet someone new in the military because the military is a very widespread group of people that united to fight under one flag.

Even though I’ve made and lost people along the way of being a military child I’m still very thankful for the sacrifices that my dad has gone through to give me this life I get to live, I get to live in Japan while others that I’ve meet might never get this opportunity.
