Killin Elementary School
My name is Emma and I’m in 3rd grade at E.C.Killin. I live off base in an apartment in Okinawa, Japan. I am here with my family because both my parents serve in the military.
One advantage of being a military child is that I get to meet new people all over the world. Another advantage is that I get to live with mom at her duty station and with my dad at his duty station. I also love that I was born and raised in Japan.
Being a military child comes with many challenges. I have to leave my friends and make new ones. I also don’t get to live with my mom and dad at the same time because they’re at different duty stations.
With the advantages and challenges, I love being a military child!
