A Military Life

Being a military child has been and always will be difficult. Constantly moving, not being able to settle, and nonexistent solid relationships are all hard to deal with as a military child. I, for example, have dealt with these cons for most of my life, and it has been hard for me. I’ve had multiple relationships gone to dust because I am in the military. My old friend Joseph, for example, used to be my best friend before I moved. We spent every ounce of our free time together, enjoying ourselves to no extent. But that all unfortunately ended when I left him for the last time on May 29, 2021. I haven’t seen him since. He truly was an amazing friend and I hope I see him again, but sometimes you just have to move on. Moving on is probably the hardest thing a military child must deal with. Moving on is inevitable to everyone, military or not. I have friends now that I know that I will probably never see again. But at the end of the day, we have to stay strong and deal with the pain. The military isn’t entirely bad, though. You get new experiences and new friends as you progress, but some people don’t want that. Some people want to stay with the same people, building friendships that they know won’t fall apart because of something stupid. Some people want to stay happy. Some people don’t want to have to move on.
