Being a military child is challenging because being a military child means having to move around all over the world. It might be exciting going to a new town or house, but going to a new school is hard knowing that friends won’t be there. Also, going to a new school means not knowing the people there. People there can be bullies, they can be friendly, or they can be chaos. For some people a sudden change of scenery can be difficult for them to fit in because that area might speak a different language. Moreover, if someone was at a school for a long time, the teacher would know them and would teach them the way they can learn. If that person moves to a different school, the teachers won’t know them and they will probably have a hard time learning because of the sudden change of the teacher.

Another reason why it’s hard being a military child is because when PCS-ing to a new place, there will probably be a certain amount of time before PCS-ing again to a new place. Even though a new friend is made at that new place, if that person is also a military child, they will also have to PCS and it will be hard seeing them move away. Although they might move away, seeing them again is possible if they get stationed at their old station again. For example, if Serina moves to Yokosuka, people who are staying at one place might see her again if Serina gets stationed at that one place again. Also, even if there are people who PCS, too, those people might end up getting stationed somewhere where their friends are.

The last reason why being a military child is challenging when the parent(s) who is in the military is deployed. Especially when they have to go overseas for a little while. Like let’s say, someone's dad needs to go to the Philippines for duty, it will be difficult for that person and their dad to be away from each other. Thankfully, IPhones were invented and calls are only one button away. That is why being a military child is challenging.
