When I was younger, we lived in Bahrain, and my dad had to go to Afghanistan to be a medic and training other people in case of war. My dad was gone for three months. While he was gone, it was really hard for us. Especially knowing he was not safe while he was gone, my mom struggled. We had a housekeeper who helped her, but there were three of us to handle. I was 6, my sister was 8, my brother was 4; we all missed our dad and were often fussy. Being a military child at a young age is hard. When my father came back, we spent so many days with him before he had to go back and work at the hospital. From the days he was gone, we tried to make up for it in only two weeks. Nowadays, my dad is in the same country with us, but he does 24-hour and longer shifts. I love my dad and my family. Sometimes being a military child is hard, but it makes you stronger and softer at the same time.
