2023/Ethan -

As I am not a military kid, I have a different perspective on how life is overseas. Whenever I make friends, I end up having to say goodbye within two years. Once when I was in fourth grade, I met someone named Liam. He and I had a lot of things in common, mostly interests. We were both very interested in a certain game that we couldn't play (too expensive). Since we couldn't play it, we would come up with ways to pretend we were in the game. Personally, now that I have that game, I wish I could go back and play with him instead.

But he moved. He moved at probably the worst period of my life. It was when the Coronavirus outbreak was starting. Since he moved to a non-DoDEA school, I lost all of his contacts and could not find him. What made it worse was he moved really fast. He left almost two days after he knew he’d be moving, and since I was back stateside, I couldn't say goodbye to him. So even though I am not a military child, I still have to deal with some of the problems they have to deal with.
