Dear Mimi, I read your last letter, and I understand about how hard it is to live long distance from me. It’s also hard for me to be so far from you and the rest of the family that lives back in the states. So, I just wanted to fill you in on what it’s like to be a military child. It’s mostly fun, but sometimes it’s a hassle. It’s fun living over here on the Navy base because I am always meeting new friends, and I get to run around base and play with them. I like playing MWR sports every season with people I know. It’s hard because I didn’t like my dad being away when he deployed, but it was always great, and I felt more relaxed when he came home. We also have to move a lot and get familiar with a new area, school, house, and friends. Even though it is hard to be far away, we can still share the best parts of where we live with each other through letters and phone calls. Maybe you can even come visit us again soon!
