2023/Noelle -

Dear Pen Pal,

Hello! I am here to interview you about how life is being a military child. First of all, I know that military children move a lot, and it’s very often. How many times have you moved, and where have you moved? Recently, I went on vacation, which was paid by the military. We didn’t have to pay for any of the plane tickets! When was a time that happened to you? Also, I know you may get emotional about this, but have your parents ever had to go on deployment? My dad has been on a 6-month deployment, yet I was too young to remember. Bringing up the moving topic again, you have to leave your friends and go to new schools. Do you make friends pretty easily?

Sincerely,

Noelle C.

Dear Noelle C.,

Hi! Life is pretty normal, but sometimes it can be complicated being a military child. My family does move often, so often that it was about 8 times in my 16 years. We only move stateside. We have moved to Washington, Oregon, Nebraska, Illinois, California, back to Washington, Texas, and now currently California. I have never taken a vacation paid by the military. I get very sad when my mom goes on deployment, and she currently is on deployment. I am very kind to everyone, so I make friends pretty easily.

Kind regards,

Your Pen Pal
