Yokosuka Middle School
Do you know what it feels like to move to a new place, far away from your friends? It’s difficult . . . You’ll feel plenty of mixed emotions, such as sadness, nervousness, stress, etc. This is exactly how I felt when I moved from Germany to Japan. I had to adapt to my new surroundings, home, and school, and making new friends is hard sometimes. When you move to a new school, it might be pretty difficult to make new friends because the kids you go to school with might already know most of the kids there, and no one would be willing to talk to you. It’s frustrating trying to unpack all of your old stuff in your new house, and arranging it where you want. There are plenty of reasons to feel unhappy, but things change. Eventually, you will make new friends and adapt to your new place. So, don’t feel down forever; make new friends, try new things, and have fun. This new place will be full of excitement, and you will feel grateful that you got to experience this new location.
