2023/Jazira -

A chapter of my life is coming to a close

So similarly to the students 5 decades before me

Hence I walk in their footsteps

Along a path they have made comfortable for me

It’s been a long journey to reach the destination that I am so steadily approaching

And I can’t help but to stop, and look back at everything I’ve done, and all that has been

I stare at the things that once were, and cannot contain the love that I hold

Further exciting me for what is to come

Admittedly this large step I am soon to face is beyond terrifying

But the pace of my life and my journey has become repetitive and lackluster

I have awaited and yearned change for as long as I can remember

And the change that awaits me, I will surely embrace
