What is home?

What is home?

A home is a place where many people feel belonging. It is where you are most comfortable. For some people, a physical house is not what they call home. It’s just a place where they can live, whether that may be comfortable or not. When you grow up over the years having to move from place to place, you start to ask yourself. “What is home? Is it where I was born? Is it where I spent the most years living? Or is it the place where I had the most fun?”

When you move, all the toys and precious things you’ve carried all your life might not move with you, whether that may be a special someone, your friends, your pet, or your grandparents. When you move, you might see a different ocean. It might be cleaner or dirtier than the one you spent your entire life looking over. When you move, you might see other mountains. It might be taller or shorter than the one you used to watch when you took the bus to school. When all these sceneries over the years pile up, you lose sight of what you call home.

But one thing to remember is that we all share the same sun. If you can look up at the sky and see the sun, someone else can see it too. The idea of a physical place being your home is not so important. A home is where you feel the most belonging. So if you ever lose sight of your home, just at the sky because we all share the same sun, and you belong on Earth.
