Yokota Middle School
One thing I don’t like about being a Military Child is having to move and leaving all of your friends. 4 years ago, I landed in Yokota and it was beautiful because my family and I had come when the cherry blossoms were blooming. It also was really hot and my brother said, “It’s so hot, I feel like I’m melting.” My family and I were guided by these tour people and they led us to a cold building with Japanese snacks and had someone drive us to the towers until we got our house. My dad was taking Cora, my dog, for a walk after the long plane ride. We walked around the base and took pictures of the Cherry Blossoms. It was dinner time by then and we were eating pizza for dinner. After that we took showers and went to sleep. Later that night, I was dreaming about all my friends in Navarre, Florida and wondering how I would make friends in Japan. It was cold outside and my brother woke me saying, “It’s so cold, I feel like I'm in a freezer.”
