Back in New Mexico, Clovis on April 25, 2021. My Mom and I were waiting for my Step-Dad to tell us where we were gonna move for the year. 5:30 p.m. and My Step-Dad got home and brought us the news, “We're going to move to Japan!” My Step-Dad said. I jumped higher than I had jumped before, excitement filling up my whole body, meeting new friends in a new country. A few weeks later, my Mom is packing our stuff so it's ready, moving trucks parked in front of our house to get our furniture.

A few weeks had passed and we had to stay at Cannon Air Force Base because we had left our house in Clovis. I woke up early at 2:30 a.m. to get ready to go to the airport. We got in a van and got to the airport. It took a few hours to get there but we got there.

We got to the airport, got our luggage, and lined up to check our passports and our hand-bags to bring into the airplane. While my parents were waiting for the airplane to arrive, I video called my Grandad on messenger, to update them.

“I wish I could come with you but I don’t have enough money, Japan can be a cold place. Not really best for my bones.” said Grandad.

“Yeah, I know.” I added. The airport wifi was getting slow when the call ended. I tried calling him again but the wifi connection was not working that well, the airplane landed and we got inside the airplane. It took almost 9 hours until we arrived in Japan.

We got to Japan and we thought we were gonna land at the Japan airport, but it turns out that we landed at Yokota Air Base.

We got to the shuttle bus and stopped at one of the towers called TLF, we got our card for the room. I was a bit dizzy because of jet-lag. My family and I explored Japan for a while. It was fun exploring part of Japan, but we got stressed because of my little brother crying because he hadn’t eaten yet, but in the end we managed to calm my brother down by feeding him omelet in a convenience store.
