Being a military kid is kind of hard for me and nice. When I have to move, I will look for new friends and things to make with my new friends. My friends made a yearbook for me I was sad when I left that school. We always did our work together. I was nice to them, and they were nice to me. My friends were sad, too. We didn’t like saying goodbye. I have lived in California, Sasebo, Japan, and Hawaii. California was the best because we had the biggest backyard. I was happy. It’s hard when your parent is deployed. My dad lets my brothers and me play games with him, like Minecraft. It’s hard to sleep in my own bed when my dad is gone. I really miss him being in the house. He also helps me with my homework a little.
I had six fish, but they died. Right now, I have two dogs. One is named Xena and the other is named Masaharu. Our dogs have come everywhere with us.
My dad’s name is Franklin, and he is the 1st Lieutenant on the USS American. He enjoys working on his cars, hiking, and playing video games. He has a race car mostly, and he works on my Mom’s car. His favorite foods are curry, pizza, onigiri, ice cream, and cookies. His favorite movies are most of Jim Carey movies, like Liar Liar and Ace Ventura. He likes to do outdoor things like hiking, riding bikes, and sports. He leads seventy-five sailors to do boat operations, fueling the ship, docking the ship. He likes to explore different places, and the Navy allows him to have that opportunity. We like being able to discover new areas and meet new people. We don’t enjoy packing and unpacking. He's been able to see volcanoes and big sunfish in the wild. He’s been able to visit a lot of historical sites. He gets to save people. My dad has three brothers, and so do I. His mom has only boys, and my Mom has only boys, too. Not being present in everyday life, missing practices and achievements, and going on adventures are some of the things that my Dad has to miss. We do have movie nights, and he likes those. I also like it when we all snuggle together. It’s hard for the whole family when we have to move.
