Life As A Military Child

My name is Magdalena, and I am 7 years old. Being a military child is hard, because I don’t know anyone when we have to move. I look for friends as soon as we move to somewhere new. I have to move this summer, so, I will have to find new friends in August when school starts.

I tell my friends and family that I will miss them when I have to go somewhere new. My friends were sad when I told them that I had to move away. My new classmates were surprised when I first got here, because they didn’t know me. It was hard to move, because I wasn’t ready. I tried to fit in at my new school by making friends right away. When we moved, I didn’t do anything to help. My parents did everything for me. My teacher packed my supplies for me when I had to move away. My new house was big when we first arrived. I’ve lived in Japan and Washington, and I’ve lived in many other places. Tell me all the places that you lived before. My favorite place to live is Japan, because I like noodles! The biggest change I noticed when I first got to my new school is that it was bigger. They taught different things. When my Dad deploys, I really miss him. One place that I’d really like to live is San Diego. My cousins live there. I have a dog. His name is Apollo.

My Dad’s name is David. He loves his family and sports. He likes to BBQ and play cornhole. My Dad is a good cook. His favorite foods are tacos and cheesecake. I like to watch movies with my family, BBQ with my friends. My friends send me messages to check up on me. We enjoy game nights as a family. To prepare for my moves, I throw lots of things away that we don’t need anymore. I enjoy helping other people out. My job is to talk to airplane pilots and tell them what to do. I enjoy working with people around the world. I like to move, because get to make new friends. In family growing up I had 2 siblings. He has 3 children. It makes it hard to raise them when you don’t have a schedule. Watching his children grow is the best things about being a parent.
