2024/Sienna -

Being a Military Child

My name is Sienna. I’m 8 years old. My birthday is in September. I was born in Hawaii. My best friends are Maggie and Harpyr. My favorite foods are corn and seaweed and ramen. My favorite sports are cheer and gymnastics. My favorite drink is grape Fanta. I love my friends and family. I like taking bubble baths more than showers because you can use bath bombs. I have to go to a school on base so my parents know I am safe, and I love traveling because I get to explore the world and meet new people and get new friends.

After I was born in Hawaii, we moved to Puerto Rico and Cuba and then Florida and now, I'm in Japan.

My favorite place to live was Hawaii because there were so many beaches, and they were beautiful and the water was clear. I would love going to the beach and playing in the sand and my dad would hold me when I wanted to go in the water because I was only there for one month there for two months.

I’ve never been far away from one of my parents before and I would be sad if I had to, but I would take a deep breath and try not to cry but if I did It's fine because crying is a part of life and everybody cries at least once so It's fine.

I’d like to live in Massachusetts where my cousin lives so I could see them and have play days with them.

My mom’s name is Jade. She has two kids. She is from Puerto Rico. She works with families who have kids with Autism. She loves to travel, shop, be on TikTok, go to the beach, eat, dance and love on her kids. Some of her favorites include Coke, coffee, chocolate, nuts, and flan. She also likes to hike and go out to eat with her friends.

My dad’s name is Steve. He likes to help people. He likes watching his 2 kids grow up. He likes Movie Night and Game Night with our family.

He says that moving can be hard, because it creates stress. Sometimes things get broken or lost.

Sometimes, his friends become like family. His friends were very sad when they found out that he was moving. He goes fishing and plays sports with his friends. His friends support him by helping him with work when he needs it. It was pretty easy finding friends for him, when he moved to Japan.
