My Good Military Life!

ALL ABOUT ME

I would describe my life as a military child as sad, because my friends don’t get to come with me. I am sad, because I don’t get to see the friends that were in my school for another in 3 years. They reacted sadly when I told them I was moving, because I was a nice classmate. I was a baby when I moved from Texas to San Diego and then to Japan. Until I made friends, I played on my tablet a lot, because that was the only thing to do. I was glad to be in the hotel in Japan, because it was all one room. I was always with my Mom and Dad. I hate being alone, so I was happy being in the hotel with them, where I could see them all the time.

It wasn’t hard to move for me. I was chilling, because I knew my dad was coming back. I didn't set it up my room. My Mom and Dad set it up for me. I miss my family, and I miss my friends from school, Becca and Luna. Every time when it’s Friday or Saturday, I go to Becca and Luna’s house and play together. We played video games a lot, and it was nice until they moved. Before they moved, they stayed at my house for 2 days when they were about to go to San Diego. I didn’t like it, because there were no more sleepovers for us.

ALL ABOUT MY DAD

My Dad’s name is Tyler. He grew up in California. He lived in Texas when he was in middle school and high school. There were 5 kids in my Dad’s family when he was growing up. He met my Mom there, and that’s where they had my sister and me. My Dad’s number one hobby is sleeping! He loves games, he’s a fan of the gym, and a huge sports guy. He loves to eat sushi, steak, teriyaki chicken, and Mexican food, like burritos. He also loves simple foods, like sandwiches, water, coffee, and tea. He loves almost anything chocolate, and he loves donuts. He really likes to “Netflix and Chill”. His favorite thing to do is spending time with the family, watching movies.

My Dad likes to play games with his friends. His friends are there for him, especially if there is emotional distress. They really support him. They always provide words of wisdom. He has some pretty good acquaintances. Being in the Chief’s Mess, it’s somewhat easy to form new bonds. Sometimes being in the military and moving can be a stressful situation. It can be very difficult and emotional. You spend years bonding and creating relationships that you just to have severed. Our friends were sad. It was a hard time for everyone.

He says it’s hard when we have to move to different locations every few years.

You have to keep track of every items you own to make sure that it’s inventoried so you can check it when it arrives at your new Duty Station. My Mom has a system to keep everything organized to the best of her abilities.

Our family has holiday traditions, like putting up the Christmas tree. It always gets put up on December 1st. Then we watch Christmas movies during the whole month of December. My Dad’s most favorite thing to do is to take care of us. That’s the joy that my sister and me bring him. We are always there by his side.
