Humphreys Middle School
I was just an ordinary kindergartener in this school called Daegu Elementary School. Every day I would go to school, learn, eat, and go home. But this all changed when my dad had to move one day because of his job. I was so excited to go that I couldn’t sleep. I was so happy when I first arrived at Humphreys Central Elementary School, had friends, unlike back in Daegu. This was when I didn’t ever want to move again. Later, in 3rd grade, I discovered I wasn’t a military child and felt misplaced and disappointed. I thought I didn’t belong here; the school CLEARLY said things all about military children. I didn’t even like some of the teachers! I would get in trouble because I did stupid things that I didn’t think about before doing it. I got in big trouble WAY too many times to be comfortable. This is when I started to want to leave. In 4th grade, I had the best teacher ever. I’m grateful to her for getting me in trouble for reasonable reasons and just for being the best teacher. I also made the most friends I have ever had in 4th grade, and they were all nice and understanding.
