What is Being a Military Child Means to Me

My life as a military child has been such an exciting adventure and probably will continue

to be. Today I will be talking about 3 of my favorite things about being a military child. I hope

you enjoy it.

First off, I get to travel, and I love to travel. Although, that can be stressful. Leaving friends,

going through a crowded airport. It is fun but sad at the same time, so sort of bittersweet. I do

like going to different places, but not really leaving friends. Like one time I lived in Okinawa I

had a best friend who was just like a big brother to me but he sadly moved and then a lot of my

friends started moving, then one person moved here and he was my same age and we were also

really good friends and then I had to move. Another thing in Okinawa was my favorite teacher,

the only boy teacher I had, he understood me well and was strict and nice at the same time. If he

wasn't ever my teacher, I don't know what I would do.

Second off, When I get hurt and need to go to the E.R./hospital there is no bill. Like one time

when I was having my second birthday,I was throwing rocks with my friend, and he had a big

rock his dad told him to stop and it startled him and the rock flew out of his hand bounced off a

tree and hit me right on the lip and had to get stitching glue on my face and have a scar still, we

went to the E.R., and it was free, no bill or anything. Another time, my grandma’s dog bit

My sister’s face and we went to the E.R. and she got stitching glue on her face, and she still has

Scars.

Lastly, When I’m on the plane it’s free, because I’m a military child. For example, if there are

10 seats open on a space A flight, and my dad is in the military, we get to get on before

Civilians, and it's free. They sometimes even stop for pets to go to the bathroom. Like one time

I was on my flight to Okinawa and they stopped the plane to let the pets have a break, play

around, and go to the bathroom. I loved being able to stretch and play with my dogs, I think it’s

a good idea to let the dogs off the plane for a little bit.

Those are 3 of my favorite things about being a military child, 1,. to travel. 2, to get free

medical help. And 3, free flights. So my life as a military child is quite well, and I love it. I hope

it has been an exciting adventure for my family too and I hope it continues to be for me and my

Family.
