I enjoy being a military child because I get to lead a train of wonderful friends. My family and I also love moving around to different countries. I call it a yearly vacation. There are also challenges we need to overcome. We never enjoy separating or leaving home. For example, this present week my Dad had to leave for Okinawa, Japan. It is hard when my Dad isn’t home, but thank goodness we can call each other every once in a while. When my Dad leaves home I feel a bit sad because I don’t get to be with him. When we move to different countries it is very exciting. The sad part about it is that I have to leave amazing friends, or when not only I am leaving, but my friends leaving, too. One year, in Fort Johnson, Louisiana my Dad was offered a job here in Camp Zama, Japan. Once I heard the big news I was very obliged, but also scared. We had finally arrived in our new home on Camp Zama, Japan, and so far so good. In conclusion, being a military child is absolutely extraordinary. I have the opportunity to learn about many cultures and delicious foods.
