Military Child

When you're born as a military child life can be hard but fun. We get to experience different places all over the world. Even though it sounds fun it can be hard too. Every time we leave a place my dad is stationed at it's like leaving a part of your life behind. When I learned we were moving to Okinawa, Japan at first, I was heartbroken because I had to leave everything behind. I learned that moving isn't so bad either because I get to meet new people and try new things too.

When I moved here my parents enrolled me in a DODEA school called KDES which stands for Kadena Elementary school. At first, I was nervous but I made new friends quickly. Outside of school I tried new things like ramen, sushi, and curry. I started watching anime. I learned how to read Japanese books since they are read right to left instead of left to right.

Sometimes after school we go to Blue Seal, an ice cream place here. Since my dad works for the Navy, we can go on base where my school is located. We go to the youth center where kids can come after school to play games or participate in sports. This summer we will move up to Yokosuka, Japan! Then I’ll get to go to middle school! At first, I disliked moving but now it's exciting and new!
