I love my dad, and enjoy spending time with him. My dad works all day and I don't get to see him until bedtime. When you are a military child, your parents will most likely get deployed. My dad did, for a few months. I missed him a lot. Some of my friends have had their parents get deployed for a year and sometimes several. Talking about friends, when you are a military child, you move a lot! I have had to leave behind a lot of my close friends. Even though there are some sad things about being a military child, there are a lot of good things too. A cool thing was that my mom got interviewed on the news because her cheer team set up a surprise party for my dad coming home. We also get to move a lot! This part can be a disadvantage but moving is also really fun. You get to pack up all of your stuff and see everything leave your house, which will definitely give your mom some peace with the messes (especially MY mom). When I first got here, which was 5 years ago, I had a hard time making new friends. But the advantage about being a military child is that you make new friends really quick. I also get the advantage of trying new things like food. Here I can try sushi and other Japanese foods. That is what life is like for me being a military child.
