Being a military child comes with a lot of perks. I get to meet lots of new people, I get to experience a plethora of different cultures, and I get to live in many new and exciting places. These experiences have opened my eyes up to the world and I’ve grown as a human being because of this. I’m thankful for these opportunities and wouldn’t trade them for anything. However there are certain times where I wish I wouldn’t move or that someone else didn’t have to leave . There are plenty of times where I wish that I could stay in one place until I graduate or that one of my friends that moved had stayed with me. But I don’t like to think about what could’ve happened; I focus on what actually did happen. I’ve had to move away from friends, but I always made new friends at the next place, sometimes even better than the last. These changes have made me able to adapt to new places well. This trait will be especially helpful for when I go to college later this year. These are the invaluable lessons that I will use for the rest of my life. And for that, I can’t be more thankful to be a military child. The memories I’ve had in all these different countries are irreplaceable. I mean, I’ve lived in three different continents, which a lot of people can’t say they’ve done. There are pros and cons in this life, but in my opinion, the pros significantly outweigh the cons by a longshot.
