It is difficult to be a military child because your parents go to deployment and it's really hard for the parent that's with you. It is also hard because you might cry while the parent that is deployed is away. It makes me heartbroken because I have a deployment dad that isn't gonna be here for 6 months and he will miss my sister's birthday. It’s really hard to live with a deployment parent. The things and attitudes in my house have changed because my dad isn’t here and it’s time for my mom to take control of three kids. It’s also hard because my siblings are crazy! They will run everywhere if you take them somewhere. That's why I don't like my dad being deployed! It’s amazing to move and go on airplanes but moving way too much isn’t for me. I love exploring new places and eating new stuff! But I want to only stay in one area. Rather it’s Okinawa or the USA or somewhere even newer than those. I cannot pick because the USA and Okinawa are really good places to live but here are my examples that are completely different. First of all, Okinawa is a beautiful place to stay and different types of food, books, plushies, clothes and even cultures! Okinawa is also a safe place for kids to grow up and be independent. They can go grocery shopping, walk to school/walk back home, go to your friend's house. But the USA is kinda scary to me. First my mom said there is too much freedom which is true but it's not like Okinawa. The USA is dangerous. I can’t pick because there is DISNEYLAND in the USA and Okinawa World in Okinawa, obviously! Those are fun and you can learn lots of things from those two places. This is why it’s kinda amazing to be a military child.
