Have you ever been fishing but you didn't catch a fish? I did it twice. It was an adventure! First, we had to pack the car. I helped my family pack the car, putting in all our fishing gear and some snacks. I felt like a real explorer, getting ready for a big expedition. Next, we drove off, talking about how many fish we would catch. The drive felt long, but I enjoyed looking out the window at the trees and the sky. When we got to the pond, it was so peaceful and pretty. We set everything up, sticking the fishing rods into the ground and carefully putting on the bait. I was super excited, imagining the big fish I was going to catch. Lastly, we went fishing. I was trying really hard to be patient, waiting for a fish to bite. But then, all of a sudden... ahhh! A snake! I screamed! I screamed because I saw a snake slithering near our fishing spot in the water. I do not like snakes! They make me feel all shivery and scared. My grandpa told me it was okay, and that we should fish somewhere else. But I wasn't so sure about that. Even though we didn't catch any fish, and the snake scared me, I had a great time being outdoors with my family. Being a military child means I get to have all sorts of adventures, like going fishing, even if they don't go exactly as planned. And even though I didn’t catch any fish this time, I learned that it's more about the fun and the time spent with my family than anything else. I can't wait for our next adventure, hopefully with no snakes next time!
