Trinity’s Elephant Adventure

Have you ever gone to an elephant sanctuary in Thailand? I have, and it was fun!! First, we fed the elephants radish. My mom was recording the whole time, capturing every single moment. Then we went down a hill with an elephant. I was holding its leash, which was made of plastic. I think the elephant was 85 years old, it was a girl, and her name was, I think, Chicha. Then we ate lunch, which was a mix of English and Thai food. It was delicious! We also learned a recipe for making rice balls for elephants without teeth. First, we had to get our hands wet, then grab a chunk of rice, and roll it up into a ball. We fed it to the elephants with our bare hands, trying to avoid touching their tongues. But you kind of have to touch their tongue, which might look a little gross.

I had so much fun! We had to take off our shoes to go in the water with the elephants. It felt so mushy under my feet; it was a weird but cool feeling. Then we gave the elephants a mud bath by picking up mud and rubbing it on their backs. The elephants' backs were hairy, so I was a bit hesitant to rub hard.

We took a ton of pictures! It was amazing to be so close to such gentle giants. After our tour was over, we washed up, ate a couple of snacks, and then it was time to say goodbye. If you ever get the chance to go, have fun with the elephants!

Being a military child means I get to have all these incredible adventures, like visiting an elephant sanctuary in Thailand. It's a part of my life I really love because I learn so much and get to see amazing things. I can't wait to see where we go next!
