Taking Advantage of Your Situation

I am currently in the 9th grade and 7 of my 10 years at school have been overseas. At times I think I’m missing something by not being in one location, but those thoughts never last long because I realize I have an advantage of many kids my age. I’ve been to 18 countries. I lived almost exclusively in Asia or Europe. I’ve been to famous locals like Paris, Tokyo, Seoul, Prague, Amsterdam, London, Dublin, Edinburgh, Manila, Boracay, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Toronto, and New York. I’ve also been a scout since first grade and currently planning my Eagle project. I’ve opportunities to hike the mountains of Korea and the Appalachian Trail. I’ve experienced summer camps in Croatia and winter camps in the Swiss Alps. I’ve camped on Normandy Beach and witnessed reenactments of WWII in Bastogne. I’ve made so many friends and shared so many experiences that it’s hard to remember them all. I’ve had a blessed life being a military child. The number one thing I have learned is to take advantage of situations. No matter where you are or who’s around you. There is something for you there.
