The life of a Military Child

I am the daughter of a colonel who works in the Italian Army and he is a civil Engineer too.

A couple of years ago, my father gave me and my family a chance to experience a diverse life, which I typically did not have.

My father wanted me and my siblings to learn how to speak foreign languages and study at an International school by using advanced tools and programs to help us.

I have many memories of my childhood. Most of my memories are about my family.

I respect and admire my father because many times during his life, he always stood up for what he believed was right to do and to say, and he still does it today.

I still remember the days and nights, when my father was preparing speeches and documents for his meetings at work.

I felt displeased several times because my father always put work before his family.

This happened because my father has always been kind and helpful to his colleagues and too much dedicated to his duties as a military.

Other memories are my friendships with my old classmates in Rome.

The truth is that I began to think that making friends in this environment might be easier compared to my own country.

However, I had good friends in my school, but I feel like I prefer having foreign friends compared to Italian ones, because they seem more sincere, kind and you can always count on them.

Furthermore, I like the school and the teachers, which are very nice whenever you ask for help or you do not understand something.

I traveled to many places with my family during summer. I visited the Colosseum, museum, parks and beaches.

I like that my father is concerned about my health and he wants me to live a good life.

I consider traveling from Italy to Belgium a beautiful opportunity, full of ups and downs to learn languages and socialize with people.

In conclusion, this experience makes me think of a quote: "If you can dream about it, you can do it" because challenges have arisen throughout life, but if you learn to overcome struggles, then you will be able to improve and live your life peacefully and happily.
