Being a military child has its rough spots, but I have to be tough and resilient in a way. Look, being a military child you can experience some amazing things. For example, I moved to Europe, something I could not have imagined a few years ago. But as mentioned, there are rough spots, the major rough spot is… leaving. Every 3 or so years I have had to leave my friends behind and start anew. When my parent retires I’m going to have to start all over again, although this time, I’ll be seen as an outsider. In any state or any country for that matter, a lot of the people in the schools have rarely seen a new student. So whenever I come in and start telling these mystical magical stories of places they haven’t even heard of, I’ll be considered like the “wise old wizard”. I’ll be someone they’ll like once they get to know me, but I’ll be seen as a strange person at first glance. Back to the point of moving: whenever I arrive at this new place and new house, I always feel somewhat empty because I just left everything and I am without my creature comforts for a while. But beyond these rough spots is a fun and safe haven, with new people and places around every turn.
