My name is Sofia M., and this is my Life of a Military child. Life of a Military child can be hard and challenging. It can be good, and it can be bad. I get to move to lots of places and make new friends, but that also means leaving old friends and moving to unfamiliar places. I knew almost nothing about Belgium. All I knew was that they had good “frites”. I was excited but also scared. Everything looked different, sounded different, smelled different, tasted different, and felt different. It was almost like a fever dream. But I’m glad I got to experience that. I leave old friends but make new ones in the process. I leave old experiences and make new ones. It’s a life worth living, to experience everything. Sure, I can’t go to Walmart at 3 am to get a snack or get a 0.45oz Hershey bar that costs $2.37, but it’s worth it in the end to know that I can get a Chocolate Waffle for £1.80, which is $1.94.
