Life With Military Children

I am a French kid who lives in Belgium and goes to an American School. I go to school with children whose parents work in the military. So they constantly move, while I stay here. I stand in the middle of the room, watching blurry figures come and go around me. Some of them pause next to me for a short while then leave in a flash. That is what it's like to go to school with military children. I'm stuck here till I graduate and go to a new place. I need to make new friends every two to three years. I guess it improves my social skills. I have experience reconstructing my heart every time it gets broken by people close to me leaving. I guess it makes me stronger. I stay in the same country without knowing what it's like to live somewhere else where people have different cultures and food. I guess it makes me curious. I want to go to so many places. Portugal, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Czech, China, Japan. But honestly, I love meeting new people from so many different countries. They are so much more interesting than people from the same country as me. I learn their language and learn about their culture. I get to hear amazing stories about where they have been and their old schools and customs. I don't have to deal with moving a lot, like all the military children, so I'm happy because I don't have to be the new kid all the time. I also don’t need to constantly adapt to new environments and I can have as many things in my room because I don’t have to move every two years.
