2024/Isamu-

Hi, my name is Isamu. I live in Okinawa, and I am a military child. I came from North Carolina, but it was not easy to move. I have a sister, brother, and a tortoise. I have been on the island for 1 year and 10 months.

My dad has been in the military for 20 years and my mom has been in for as long as my dad. My mom is retiring in 2 years and we’re moving to Virginia. So that means that I can make friends there who won’t leave, and I can also see my grandma.

Most people are not so lucky. Some kids are separated from their family and other people who they are close to. My advice is you should call your loved ones and friends. Talking to a friend will really help because they might understand you better than anyone else.

In conclusion, I love being a military child but sometimes I don’t and maybe you feel that way too. I hope you don’t feel alone. Also, I hope you take my advice.
