2024/Jackson-

My name is Jackson. I'm 10 years old and I’m a military child. I like being a military child because I like meeting new friends, but I leave my old friends behind when I move which kind of stinks. The best part of being a military child is trying food in different places and seeing other cultures.

I’ve lived in Arizona, Hawaii, and Okinawa (where I am living right now). In Arizona, I lived with my grandparents (my mom’s parents) for a while. In Hawaii, the pork was so good and my grandma (my dad’s mom) lived there. Here in Okinawa, the aquarium has a whale shark and a cafe. I've been to South Korea and the food is the best, especially the fried crab and kimbap.

Being a military child means having to travel a lot and you can learn about new cultures. Also, there is something called MCCS and they throw parties sometimes for fun or for holidays, one time I went to a pool party with my dad’s shop. It was super fun. One of the best things about being a military child is meeting new friends at different places.

Some of the bad things about being a military child is parents going on deployment, but don’t be too upset because they will be back soon when. Most of the time the bad things are only temporary, to me being a military child is the best when it comes to traveling, trying food, and seeing the world.
