2024/Sadie-

Hello! My name is Sadie, I am 11 years old and I go to school at Zukeran. I have been an Air Force child since birth. I have experienced both good and bad things.

Even though you get a lot of amazing opportunities as a military child there are a few not-so-good things. One disadvantage of being a military child is that you normally move about every 4 years on an average. This means that you often have to say goodbye to friends and family which can be hard. Another thing that is so great is that sometimes your parents may go TDY.

There are many great things about being a military child! I personally am so incredibly grateful for all the opportunities I have been given. I even have had the chance to move to different places. A few of them are California, South Carolina, and Okinawa, all these places were great! Everywhere I have moved I have made memories like trying new foods, seeing new places and making long lasting friendships.

Something I would consider a celebration for a military child is getting to see your family. Every 2 years or so I get to see my family in California and do things like go to Disneyland. My advice is you should be grateful for all the opportunities you have that you may never get to do again. Being a military child is hard and challenging but you also need to be open-minded no matter what.
