Being a military connected child means a lot of things to me. To be a Military Connected Child means you have a close relative in the military. When you have a close relative in the military their service affects you as well as them. For me, that person is my dad, I am a Military Connected Child.

With my dad working in the military, I must move a lot; Even when I don’t want to. I must change schools often, leave family and old friends behind, make new friends everywhere I go and start a new life. Making new friends is difficult sometimes, especially since I am shy, but I do my best and try to adapt to my new surroundings. This is the third school I’ve been to so far.

One thing that I like about being a military connected child is that I get to go to a DODEA school. I like it because there are a lot of great teachers and events at the school. I also like that I get to go on other military bases that other people can’t go on. I like going to the Navy base because they have lots of events, houses and I like to see the boats and the water. I like the Air Force base too. I like to see the airplanes and I like that my house is not far from my school. I also like that the military has lots of cool jobs.

In conclusion, although I must move a lot, and leave friends behind, there are many things that I get to enjoy. I love my new friends, the events on base, and spending time with people I love. I am excited to see the different places I will go in the future being a Military Connected Child.
