I am 11 years old and I’ve been a military child my whole life. Being a military child can be hard, but good at the same time. It’s hard because you always have to move, and good because you get to live someplace you’ve never been before. It’s also hard because you have to leave your friends and family sometimes because they can't come with you and they have to stay. My dad sometimes leaves to go to other places to do work, and my mom has to take care of me and my siblings all by herself. When my dad comes back, he always welcomes me and my family with a hug. And I really love him. It is sad when you have to move, but you get to make new friends along the way. I have lived in Okinawa for 5 years and it has been amazing. But this year I will be moving and I'm very sad because I will leave all my friends behind. But I will make new friends too. That is what it feels like to be a military child: it is all about moving then making friends then moving again. It is very hard to keep up when you're a military child. It's not all bad though you see new things, you live in new areas, and try new food. So, it's not all bad, you just have to get used to it.
