I am a military child. It can be really fun how you get to go to a new place but it can also be sad. You could be away from your family, away from close friends. Sometimes you can stay in touch with your friend but sometimes you can’t because not everybody has a phone. That's the sad part but there are also good things, for example you could try new food that you never had before like how I tried squid for the first time. New places can be amazing. I just love Japan. It is filled with all sorts of new things and I still haven't tried them all. That is what makes Japan so special, learning a new language and trying all sorts of new things. I was super excited to try everything because I was already a fan of Japan.

When I got to Japan it was so hot and all I had was snow gear so you can think how hard it was when I first got here. And no matter where I go, I am always meeting cool people every day. I was welcomed by people as soon as I got here. But the thing that is worse than leaving your friends is when your mom or dad deploys because you won’t get to see them. That is the hardest part. But it is ok because they will be back soon. And you will have fun together again.
