My Life as a Military Child

I was born in the Pacific of Honolulu, Hawaii. I had no military affiliation and lived with my mom. Hawaii was my home until I was five, when my mom married my stepdad, who was an officer in the military. This caused us to uproot from Hawaii and move to Quantico, Virginia. I lived there for only a year, but it was much different from what I was used to. I made new friends, and we got a dog named Marilyn Monroe, but I still missed my home. We then moved to Florida, where I stayed for three years. I made a lot of great friends there, and at the time, I loved it there. I still would go back and visit Hawaii and California in the summer to see my relatives. After Florida, we moved to Bahrain, which is located in the Middle East. This was a big change for me, as this was my first time being in a foreign country. Luckily for me though, Bahrain was a great place to be, with a lot of nice and friendly people to live around. I lived off base in a neighborhood named Tala. While living there, I met a lot of people at school, and I still talk to those friends today. One challenge that was presented here was when Covid hit because I didn’t have many people to talk to during this time and I was stuck doing virtual school. This led to me feeling very lonely, and in a bad state. I eventually got over this through improving my communication skills. After this, I moved to Brazil, which while it was dangerous, was still fun and beautiful. Now I live in Japan, which I like very much.
