2025/Marc-

Month of the Military Child Submission

As a Military kid, you face many struggles but also have many opportunities. Moving around and becoming attached to a place isn't for the weak. But as time passes, you learn how to grow and accept that that's just the way things go.

I’ve been one of the people to stay and go to school in Iwakuni for a long time, and in my time here, I've seen my friends come and go. At first, it made me feel sad but as I grew up, I learned that it's a daily occurrence for military kids to move around. But when I became a freshman, I managed to reunite with some of the people I used to know. With teams traveling for school sports, you're bound to see some familiar faces.

I like to think that the Pacific East Schools here in Japan are all somehow connected. The reason is that everyone knows each other and that they're all friends. I feel like, as military kids, we’ve all made connections with each other and left our mark on the people we know. We learned how to be adaptable and resilient from a young age, which helped shape us into the people we are today.
