From Bakkwa and Sentosa.

I am from the Rok under The Morning Calm.

It smelled like bad air, smoke.

I am from The Evergreen State,

The home to volcanoes

Whose Glacier peaks i remember

As if they were my own.

I am from Brick Town and the zoo,

From Simmi and Steven.

I am from the taller end and the baby end

And the sports field and basketball court,

From ‘’Walk the dog.” and ‘’Do your chores!’’

I am from the American football

With a pigskin

and ten touchdowns I can make myself.

I’m from sports and football,

Fortnight and Chick-Fil A.

From the friends lost to the past schools

Used to keep me happy.

Under my bed was a purple box spilling dandelions

a dog wearing headphones

To drift beneath my dreams.

I am from those moments-

It was fun before I made my bed.

I am a leaf growing from the family tree.
