I am from roaring jets, from green lands and roaming deer. I am from the fresh wind blowing under the mountains. It smelled like smokey trees. I am from peaceful lakes, The warm waters Whose shadows I remember As if they were my own.
I am from the cold oceans and salty winds, From Jessica and Jason. I am from ”You are funny.” and “You make me laugh!” And the “You need to be quiet” and “Get your homework done.” I am from the tall green peaks With a sunset of orange, blue, yellow, pink, and red And ten hikes I can take myself.
I’m from busy traffic and loud noises, rice paddies and Chuseok. From the wide city lost to the small town, To the shops used to keep me cheerful. Under my bed was a backpack spilling waterfalls, A river of memories To drift beneath my dreams. I am from those moments - wrapped in a cozy blanket before I watch tv. I am pink rose attached to the family free. - Inspired by George Ella Lyon
