From Holloman and the old elementary

I am from the manhattan project under the deep blue sky

It smelled of bbq and fruit

I am from buttery pecans

The gooey pie

Whose sweetness I remember

As if it were my own

I am from Sportsman's Paradise and Child of Mississippi

From April and Cory

I am from the honest

And the smart

From funny and sweet

I am from the daring with a grey and green with a hint of purple skateboard

And ten tricks I can do myself.

I’m from the hot and cold

Warm and cool

From the brain lost to the mind twisters

To the brothers used to keep me mad

Under my bed was a memory spilling with tears

A big sky of my pain

To drift beneath my dreams

I am from those moments-

With my friends before I left them

I am a leaf falling from the family tree.
