I am from moving boxes and a new home,

From surrounded by family to feeling completely alone.

I am from making new friends,

From begging for my parents to extend.

I am from a football field where I find comfort,

From coping with change by making sports come first.

I am from swinging big on and off the field,

From waiting to see what the results will yield.

I am from listening to One Direction,

From dealing with much rejection.

Adapting to change is part of who I am,

Always saying “Yes sir” and “Yes Ma’am”,

I am from making wherever I go “home”
