A vibrant balance between red and blue

Between courage and calm

Between leaving and arriving

I am the quiet knock on a new classroom door

I am the photo albums full of places I no longer reside,

The folded letters and packed boxes,

I’ve learned to bloom in unfamiliar soil,

to make a home out of change.
