Military and Change

There are so many changes in military life that cause change. I alone have had the opportunity to go and recognize many different changes through the military. I learned what it means to change within a couple of months with new places and people. It’s sometimes scary, not knowing what a place will be like. Uncertainty grasps our emotions firmly and fear of the unknown creeps into any worrisome brain. However, as long as someone can see it as a positive new experience, then they will be able to pursue through fear’s grasp. Whether that person is ready to experience a unique culture, people, place, or attitude, being ready to embrace the new is something that should be held by someone in the military. Sometimes, it isn’t easy. As a military child, I have had to put away some of my favorite things that I have done that I have built in each new home. Biking was a fun activity, especially in the flat plains. It was a unique thing I did in that area. Moving to South Korea has made me reorganize my habits. Although I miss some things, I have found new ways to have fun and enjoy myself in this unique place such as traveling and learning about the culture. No matter who you are, changing an outlook can change everything, whether for the better or for the worse.
