I lived in Arizona for 11 years. I was only there for 7 years. At that time, I made really great friends with my dad. When he was deployed, I missed him for a long time. In Arizona my dad got deployed a lot but my family was never affected by him leaving. The only thing that I personally thought was cool was that when the war in Afghanistan one of their planes were shot down and my dad went there to fix it so that it can get back in the war. My dad got sent here in Okinawa for 4 years and in June we will leave and before that my dad is going to retire. My dad enlisted when he was 18 and now, he's 38. Since he served 20 years, he thinks it's time for him to retire.
