My dad is not home most of the time. He is usually at work from 6:30 in the morning to 8:30 at night. Sometimes he isn't even on the island. The longest my dad has been gone is 45 days. He was working the entire time that I was able to be awake so I couldn't talk to him. When he is not on the island, I can't communicate with him because of time zone differences. On the weekend though I can talk to him all day because I don't have school and he doesn't have work. He is on the island for around 2 months then he leaves for about 2-5 weeks and the cycle just keeps repeating. That is what my life as a military child is like.
