Hi, my name Alexandra. This is the story about my life as a military child. For example, life as a military child is exciting but hard. Why it's exciting is because when you travel on long plane rides you can pass over many cities and see cool things. So far I have visited Great Britain, Italy, Garmisch, Amsterdam, Okinawa, Los Angeles, The Seaside, San Diego, Texas, and more! When I go to those places I see really interesting stuff like Vincent Van Gogh's paintings and Leonardo Da vinci paintings, and famous structures. It is really fun. I have also lived in Africa, The United Emirates, and California. I know lots of languages. I know Spanish, English, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, French, and Arabic. I also learn lots of traditional dances. I love trying new foods, but my most favorite food is spaghetti. I also really like boats! I make lots of friends when I move place-to-place.
Why living as a military child is hard because eventually you have to leave your friends. I normally see my relatives every 2-4 years. Sometimes you might move to a different continent and they might not like people who are different from them. While living in Africa, there were a lot of local Indian students who bullied me for being Mexican, American. However, I have met a lot of people, some were nice, and some were mean. I try my best to select nice people to be my friends. Another thing that is hard about being a military child is that sometimes my dad has to go on a work trip for a few weeks, sometimes months!
When I am around my dad I feel safe. Being a military child is the best!
